Our Story
Adorno provide Home Help, Housekeeping, Transport & Companionship in the region of Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, Somerset and surrounding areas. We have been operational since May 2019. Our mission, as an organisation with a social purpose, is to support older people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible and
to enhance their overall wellbeing. We do this by providing reassurance, guidance and respite to carers and family members that may otherwise struggle for care provision. We also aid people in re-settling back into their homes after a stay in hospital or if they are moving house. When Adorno founder Emma lost her Grandfather, her Grandmother’s independence began to slip away from her. Reduced access to transport, limited availability of home help, and her aversion to carers meant she moved into a care home sooner than she should have. We know that it is common place for families to experience this situation.
Our Mission & Vision
The State of Ageing Report from the Centre for Ageing Better in 2019 stated: “Our extra years of life are a gift that we should all be able to enjoy and yet, increasing numbers of us are at risk of missing out. Ageing is inevitable, but how we age is not.” It is therefore our mission to improve the wellness of older people in our communities. Our Support Workers and Companions are professional, compassionate and matched to clients based on interests and location. To become a Support Worker or Companion, applicants must proceed through a 2-stage interview process. All of our staff members are Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends, and are provided with DBS Checks, PPE and full training. They should therefore be very proud in the knowledge that they are part of a wider, growing team of very patient and kind-hearted people, making a real difference to the lives of those in our community.
